Up Front With Martin B. Deutsch for 1980

martin December 1: DEREGULATION'S FIRST VICTIMS
The “major effect” of deregulation, we are told by the association for corporate travel managers, is that the key U.S. air carriers have eliminated service to many smaller and medium-market cities. This trend is causing headaches for all of us.

November 1: AIRFARES AND UNFAIR TREATMENT
So far, so-called regulatory reform has given us very little to crow about. Business travelers continue to subsidize a plethora of special promotional pleasure fares. And, the cost disparities between some of the current competitive giveaways and normal full fares are obscene.

October 1: IT COULD HAPPEN TO YOU
Misfortunes always befall other people, don’t they? They never happen to me, or to you. Unless they do. Here's what happened to me recently en route to St. Louis from Chicago.

September 1: THIS ONE'S FOR US
It is particularly exciting and gratifying for us to have you in possession of Volume 1, Number 1 of Frequent Flyer magazine, a project that we firmly believe embodies a sound idea and serves an important need that grows more apparent each day: the significant requirements of the business traveler.

February 1: IN THE BEGINNING...
The frequent flyer, the professional business traveler, has been defined and recognized as an extremely important consumer and customer only in the last decade or so. Many publications, industry and consumer, have sprung up to cater to his needs and to entertain his particular interests. We think we have an even better idea.
